This was the third piece of clothing that I made out of fabric with this colorful print.. Somehow I managed to sew them all in a short period of time which resulted with kind of an overdose.. I couldn’t look at it anymore.. The fabric is lightweight cotton.. I chose to make a summer dress, since I have already made long sleeve dress and a skirt out of thicker viscose with the same print..
I used pattern #117 from Burda 11/2010 .. On one of the Modcloth dresses I saw cute detail – gathered ribbon which goes from straps to the waist.. It was an easy thing to add.. I made this dress 2 years ago, and I always wanted to cover the stitches on the ruffles with one of the decorative stiches I have on my dear Bernina .. It took me a while to decide which stich and color of the thread to use.. I must admit that I sewed little hearts about an hour before I went out for a photo shoot.. I’m glad I did it in the end..
