I liked this fabric for some reason and bought it without knowing what to make out of it. Even though I found the heart-pattern to be a little too cute to actually wear, I still ended up making a dress. A very very short dress, I cut off too much of the hem accidentally! But I still like it, it’s good for a really warm summer day! There’s a zipper in the back, and pockets on the front. I didn’t use any pattern.

So sweet!!! And such a great fit without a pattern! I’m a sucker for patternless stuff, so if you would find the time to post a sketch and a few instructions that would be great! And for the length: if you don’t feel comfy with it, you could still lengthen it by adding a wide white hem that would mirror the top. Or, if there is enough red left, insert white piping and a red hem. The kitten is adorable, I think I,ve seen a more grown-up version at your sisters cowl-top photos…

I would have had the same thought: too cute But with the white fabric it’s great and I also like the colour on you (and the cat)

Love this dress! You added just enough solid white. Can’t believe this was pattern free! Nice!

Thanks! My first idea was to use just the red fabric, but I think it needed some white, which is actually an old sheet.
And I just made it up as I went along. It was a little bit difficult to fit the bodice, it would probably be easier to use a pattern, but I have never used one and don’t know how! I think this worked out ok.
