This skirt is part of an outfit I made to attend some very dear friends’ wedding, back in August.
The top was a chiffon Amanda blouse
I wanted something contrasting and a little cheeky for the skirt. I wanted to use wax fabric, but with an original pattern. Searching the web, I found the Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer RTW 2012 collection, with brilliant wax pieces.
I decided to go for a pleated pencil skirt, couldn’t find a pattern, so I constructed it myself from scratch.
There are a lot of shops selling wax here in Paris, and I got lucky to find this strange one (God save the Queen vs Sailor Jerry ?? ;)). It went perfect with the pleats.
I took step by step pictures of the making of this skirt, you can see them on my blog. The explanations are all in french, but feel free to ask if you want me to explain some bits.
I really love this skirt, i think that’s my favorite project so far this year !

That’s really cool. Did you construct a basic pencil skirt pattern and then just spread it to add in the pleats? I definitely want to make me one of these!
