My sister had a little boy 3 months ago. I was at the fabric shop when I saw this new Hawaiian fabric they had and I knew what I wanted to make. I had already bought a few patterns awhile ago from Peek-a-boo pattern shop on Etsy, including one for a collared oxford type shirt.
I’d never made a collared shirt before and it turned out OK. The only thing that was off about it was the collar, but if he wears it open, I don’t think it looks too bad. The pattern included ‘extra’ room on the collar stand, so it didn’t fit perfectly, I had a hard time trying to line everything up, but I learned for next time. I love it, I think it’s so cute, can’t wait to make another one! I did have to turn to the internet to get some clarification on how to sew the collar and collar stand, all the tutorials out there helped a lot. The snaps were really easy to attach, I figured they’d be easier than buttons on a 3mo old.
Take off with pleats, cut-outs, insets, and futuristic prints.
