Used the Burda Style pattern 5/2010 Ruched-front dress.
This is the first time I’ve ever done shirring, and thanks to the Burda Style video I found this a really easy technique (http://www.burdastyle.com/techniques/technique-tuesdays-shirring).
Mods:
Added side pockets.
Didn’t line the bodice; instead I modified the neckline slightly, and made some bias binding from the fabric to finish off the neckline.
Used a simple machine embroidery to finish the sleeve and skirt hemlines.
Made from Hattori Sky – blue/cream Japanese organic cotton purchased from Tessuti (http://www.tessuti-shop.com/).
