This is a prototype hat for a film project at work (I work at The Heathlands Project, a social enterprise supporting adults with learning disabilities) the theme of which is Space Pirates. I was asked if I could help the group make hats so I’ve kept the pattern super simple so the people in the group will be able to do most of the making themselves.
I wanted to make the hat recognisably pirate like but with a bit of a twist so I extended the points of the brim to be quite sharp and added a ‘space skull’ design. The fabric is black and glittery, I’ve had it lying around in my stash for ages so thought it was about time I used it for something!
