Description

This dress was my final project for my draping class. It was inspired by Elsa Schiaparelli, Surrealism, and Rene Magritte. It is the first project I’ve ever made with any kind of structure, so it was definitely a learn-as-you-go project. I’d love to know what you think!

    I seriously love it, haha. Was buckram used in the skirt? I’m guessing it’s not too easy to sit in, is it?

      definitely no sitting going on! I actually only used buckram in the brim, layered with window screen mesh… the skirt was made with this incredibly stiff interfacing. All though if I were ever crazy enough to attempt this again.. I would use buckram in the skirt as well (instead of the interfacing) and a lot more boning!

      you got that right! definitely impractical.. couldn’t begin to tell you how one would go to the bathroom!
