My brother lives in Dubai. I asked him to buy me some Indian fabric. He said he couldn’t find any (really?) so he got me a punjabi set. The fabric was stunning – maroon georgette with little mirrors stitched on by hand. But I would just about never get to wear a punjabi… I could have made an evening dress from it, but then I would also almost never wear it… And so the fabsit waited for a decade, until harem pants made a come back and I had a brain wave!
So here they are. The easiest pattern ever! 40 minutes from cut to finish. Instructions were found on line, and I see they have also been posted by another member on Burda Style. The original pattern has a seam down the front, I did not like that, so I cut them with a seam on the side.
I added the cuffs at the bottom to utilise the best features of the fabric.
The pants are a bit see-through, so may have to worn with long tops or a slip.
