The “ingredients” for this skirt were:
a pair of old grey wool pants, a pair of old brown, shiny pants and a skirt bought on sale, with a terrible fit but with great patterns/colours.
I cut the pant legs open at both vertical seams alongside the legs. In order to avoid a very tight fit, I added triangular pieces of cloth from the two other pieces of clothing. I lined the triangular pieces of shiny, brown pant-material with material from the colourful skirt.

Thanks for all your nice comments! Laurie1962, about the how-to: I would be glad to do a new, similar creation when I get the time, and be sure to take some photographs and add a little explanation, if you want to! I should add, though, that I might need a how-to on how to make a how-to… :-) I’m not familiar with making them, and I don’t know if I would be able to make a good one, since my problem while sewing is that I’m not very systematical. Just “going with the flow” and trying things out…

I love upcycling!! Very cute way of taking old pants to skirt! I have a men’s trousers to dress project that I need to upload. Love your version.

I like the look of this skirt, very much. I’ve not been too happy with jeans-to-skirt set-ups. Even though they are a fine use of denim, the lumps where all the seams cross, looks and feels uncomfortable. Your version has removed much of the problem. Cordially, Nehmah
