I made this dress for my friend’s 30th Birthday by altering a basic bodice pattern using a technique by JJ1 for pleating a neckline. I first created a bib for the front and then followed the tutorial from there. I am finding very easy to alter patterns in this way, especially when using a stretchy forgiving fabric.

I really like this. How did you create the bib, was it difficult? I think I may try to do the same, it’s such a lovely shape!

It was really easy…I took a basic bodice front, then drew in the bib where I wanted it. Then I cut out that shape, and added 1/2 inch seam allowance to the bottom rounded edge to attach to bottom portion of the dress. Let me know if you need any more help. I can email you pics of my pattern…that would make it more clear. Cheers!
