Hanukkah Dreidel Plushie (soft toy)

Added Dec 29, 2008

Cedar City, Utah...

A soft toy dreidel plushie of my own design. A driedel (or draydel) is a top with four sides, that is often played with during the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. I posted instructions on and added them here at BurdaStyle as well.

Note: Because this uses a chenille stem for the handle/“turner” part, I would not recommend this toy for children 3 and under, just in case that part came off.

Material Notes

felt, batting, fabric paint, chenille stem (aka pipe cleaner)

Garment Type

Just check out the patterns and how-to area and you should find the info on making this. Or type dreidel into the search box. I wish I had come up with this idea sooner so I could have got instructions up on the net at a better time than I did. But I figured it was better late than never. I got the one’s I made done just in time to ship them to NY in time for the beginning of Hanukkah. My friend’s kids really liked them. Actually I think maybe my friend liked them even more than the children did. :)
