Description

I knitted this dress for my daughter. She can wear it as a mini-dress or as a longtop (with jeans or leggings).
It is made of different open-work with anthracite-colored cotton.
The neck line is decorated with crocheted straps and flowers.
I worked with the instruction of a German knitting magazine.
I changed only the straps, in the instruction were the straps made with a knitting Jenny – I’m not patient enough for this and decided to crochet the straps. I did crocheting at last in my school time! But it worked very well, and then I was in practice again and made also the flowers. I found a website where videos, how to make flowers, are available. This was quite easy.

I just finished the white dress for a friend. As she is an expert in crocheting, she wants to make the straps herself.

Wow! It’s AWESOME! Your handiwork is incredible! The straps are a little much for me as I’m busty. But I would be willing to spend a bill on a piece like this with simple straps from a boutique. Did it take long?

Thanks, cmie. Happy Birthday! No, it didn`t take long. The dress is made with thick circular knitting needles and this openwork is done very quickly. Of course it depends on one’s time. I finished the grey dress in winter. It took me about 3 weeks to get the grey one finished (I knitted in evenings only). The white one was a problem, because my friend wanted a thinner yarn, and I had to force myself to finish it for her, because in summer I’m always busy with something else.

Thank you, I’m happy that you like it. It seems that we never forget skills. My last time when I was knitting something, was in 1982. I was wondering myself.

FABULOUS WORK! This is exquisitely done, and you obviously know your craft to get such a lovely, uniform stitch appearance. I Love it!
