Hand Dyed Sunburst Dress

Added Jan 27, 2014

Brooklyn, New Yo...

Another simple boxy dress – I’ve been trying to draft up some other patterns so hopefully I’ll drift out of my square/boxy comfort zone soon. Once both pieces were washed and dried I sewed them into this simple dress using a 100% silk bias tape that I dyed in the same bath. More info on the process here .

Lovely! I’m interested to know what dying technique you used for the back?

Thanks so much! If you follow the link in my description I tried to describe the technique in words – but I also plan on doing some simple step by step tutorials soon!

Thanks! You should definitely start experimenting with dyeing – I started over the summer and can’t get enough of it! It’s also amazingly calming/de-stressing after a long day at work.
