Because I’ve taken a couple of online Crafsty courses i.e. Starlet Suit Jacket, Classic Tailored shirt and Couture Dress, I now want all the sewing supplies that the course suggest we get.
I can’t afford supplies so, I made myself a ham – following instructions found online – and I covered a tightly rolled magazine using some fabric I found when I delved into my fabric stash, to use as a sleeve roll.
Even with the hand stitching, (closing the ham and stitching the roll) it was all done in an evening. Packing the sawdust in was a pain! And it made a huge mess on my kitchen counter because I was so impatient.
Grey wool, Green print cotton, Calico lining, Pet bedding sawdust ( from Wilkinsons £1),
Scraps of fabric for packing, Toilet Roll to get the sawdust in, Something long and Narrow to pack the sawdust tightly, Determination.
