for the second night of halloween (it was a weekend affair at school) i decided to be robin hood!
i used a simplicity pattern. the vest definitely turned out too small (even though i cut the size i always cut in simplicity patterns) so i had to make some definite adjustments. the pattern called for a back separating zipper, but because of the size issue i ended up just using the grommets to lace up the vest corset-like. i ended up messing up all the grommets except the top and not finishing the seams on the vest because i ran out of time, so i just laced up the first few and went with it. i bought the hat, because i didn’t even know where to begin with that one. my boyfriend and i made it a couples costume when he went as lil’ john the rapper. =) haha…we’re punny.
this is the best picture i had— the vest kept riding up because it wasn’t fully laced, but oh well i enjoyed it.
cotton! brown, green, and white.
