For the waistband, I used a rectangle of quilting cotton. The dimensions are : my bust measurement (so you can put it on over your head), and your desired height times 2 (I chose 12cm). Plus seam allowances, of course :)
Then, right sides together, you sew the two short ends together to get a circle and fold the circle in half along the longest side (wrong sides together).
This is very much experimental, it’s the first time I do that.
