I made this moderate size duffle bag with matching toiletry/makeup bag for a family member for Christmas. She wanted bright and fun fabric and loved purple.
I bought some fun duck cloth and added light purple webbing for straps and for the zipper. I added pockets on the side of the duffle and embroidered B’s in purple. I did not line the duffle because I made a ripstop bag to go inside to put her suit in. I added a double pocket on the inside of the suit bag and hand embroidered the front. I used an old not used shoelace and a toggle. The toiletry/makeup bag I used the same fabric combo but I lined this. All of this fits in the duffle plus a pair of flip flops and a towel. I also made a removable purple suede tassle. I used a couple different ideas for the duffle and added some of my own. Oh almost forgot to say on the caolina pattern for the US folk use a 3/8" not a 5/8" sa and trim the sides when you put on the seam binding it will work way better.
Since this is a duffle set for the gym for her swin class I would pair this with for her Beach Blanket Bingo Piece Plus Size for the ModCloth Handmade contest
