One of my best friends was getting married, and I thought it was already time to wear something self-made for a big occasion… I actually made a test dress for this some time ago (http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/20-s-stly-test-dress), and this helped a lot! The pattern is from 11/2008 BWOF, which I have already seen a couple of times featured in BurdaStyle…
Well, overall I’m super happy how it turned out, and it actually received sincere compliments! :-)
Silk saree I brought from India. Invisible zipper.

Oh, beautiful! Really lovely color, especially with its sheen and contrast border.

The silk saree is such an amazing blue and I really love the border too. Well done for taking your sewing “public” and I’m glad you got some well-deserved compliments, it looks like you’ve done a fantastic job. You also choose a beautiful colour and style that really suits you, keep it up :)
