I HATE being rained onAnd I LOVE coats :)
This is an awesome McCalls coat pattern that I’ve used before.
I’ve always wanted a leopard print coat, so when I saw this heavy, almost canvassy fabric it was a done deal.
The lining is some groovey fabric my stylish grandmother gave me, I’m pretty sure its from the 70s.
The hood is not part of the pattern. It is detachable and fixes to the inside of the collar stand with bits of velcro. On a clear day I can take it off and wear the coat as it is, on a rainy day I can put the generous hood on to protect my hair.
Hmm, not sure about the fur trim. It was a bit of a risk, but I really love faux fur and I wanted to add it as a bit of interest. I felt black would be good because its like the tip of a leopards tail. Its all a bit busy now though…

Looks like something I’d want to try one day. Do you happen to have a reference for the pattern you used? Thank for sharing! :)
