I just randomly decided to make this a few days ago. The pattern was Butterick 4669, VIew C. I lengthened it, and had to upsize it. The pattern is cut small, I had to make the size 12 bigger, when usually I wear a few sizes smaller.
The pattern called for one layer of heavy-weight interfacing instead of boning, but I used a layer of canvas and three layers of heavy-weight interfacing, and it still wrinkled. I used some grey faric i had and stitched lines with brown thread to make it look sort of like boning, and put brown bias-tape on the edges. I laced it up with a giant red shoe string I had, and I’m wearing my “Yo-Ho! Pirate Shirt” under it.
It’s the first corset I’ve ever made, and I finished it in one day. I was pretty happy with it in the end.

Thanks! My sister has some appliance strapping and she uses it for boning, it works great too. I just didn’t wanna use up her stuff in case it didn’t turn out right. Haha!
