Description

This is my first try at the Papercut Patterns Rigel Bomber Jacket and I can’t believe I waited this long to try it out! I can’t stop wearing it. There were a lot of firsts for me in this project (welt pockets and ribbing mainly) but I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out! I’m keen to make another in a fun woven print and this time experiment with adding a lining. This version was made in a super cheap remnant of knit fabric with quite a pronounced rib. Full details can be found on my blog here http://chainstitcher.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/grey-ribbed-knit-rigel-bomber.html

I really like your choice of color and knit fabric. I recently made Burda 6/2015 Blouson jacket 102. I could not find a gray knit to compliment the gray jacket, so used black knit cuff material that I got a Mood’s NYC. I made the mistake of steaming the band after serging it in place, and it flattened like a pancake. The jacket sleeves were very big. So the jacket feels huge. I will have to try this Papercut pattern. I like bomber jackets for San Francisco weather, since it can easily change from sunny to cold and foggy.
