This is Simplicity 6557 made of grey knit. I cut true to size, but it came out a lot bigger, not sure if it was because of knit fabric or the pattern itself. But I modified it to fit. Came out a pretty laid back everyday dress. :)

I’m working on altering this pattern, right now, removing the gathers under the bust. I really don’t like that look. I believe the patterns just run larger than normal. A dress size for me is usually 1 – 2 sizes larger than my pants size, but for this one, I cut (most of it) at the same size – 12.

Thanks, Lilo, I really did forgot to go down 1-2 sizes but actually, what I cut out was the smallest size of the pattern I have. Next time, I will keep that in mind when doing knits! :) But I didn’t add extra seam allowance, so I guess I really should’ve go down 2 sizes probably.

Looks nice and comfortable. I guess the size problems are due to: 1. either the pattern was ment for a non-knit fabric (in that case you should go down one-two sizes); 2. seam allowances were included and you didn’t take that into account. (You see, I have already made both misstakes…)

The seaming is pristine. The neckline both front and back is so flattering. I like it a lot.
