Hi!! This top is based on model 101 from Burda magazine 7/2007 (you can see my other project based on this pattern here: http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/tie-front-gathered-plaid-blouse?all_images=1#project-shot-all
I altered a little the neckline because it was low and I added a bow tie instead of the band collar. I also made short sleeves gathered at the bottom with elastic.
The skirt is based on an ancient burda magazine model, I can’t remember which one. I made this two piece outfit two years ago (then I was thinner), the skirt was short but had enough ease, and everything was ok.
This summer, after the consumption of some millions of calories, I tried again the outfit. You can see the bringing-tears-to-the-eyes result at the last picture: The skirt had not a single cm of ease and was lifted up. But, lucky me, I had kept the remnants of the fabric! I added a rectangular piece at the bottom of the skirt and made two box pleats at both front and back. I think that now it is much better!! Still the skirt is very tight so I plan to redo the side seams and give it some ease. The top is also a little tight now, but I can’t do anything about it: it has nearly zero seam allowances.
Thanks for looking!
P.s. My next project is sewing my lips together:P
