I based this top on one I already owned. I drafted and cut my own pattern, but once the fabric was cut I didn’t think it was as great as the top I was trying to recreate. Instead of starting over I decided to make it fabulous in a new way so I added a slit in the center front and inserted two layers of fabric which gives it a flowing ruffle effect. I am happy with the results!

I really like how it came out! Sometimes mistakes have the best results. I made a skirt out of this same fabric and used opposing diagonals with the stripes for a similar look. Great idea!

The bit you have added certainly adds interest – I would not have thought to do that with striped fabric. I like the result!
