I needed a dress to attend a wedding with a black tie dress code. I hate shopping for very many reasons, so I decided it was time to make my first dress, and also use silk for the first time. I’m quite keen on this green colour, especially in the evening, when it looks much darker.
I was pretty happy with the result (although it no longer fits as well due to my rapidly disappearing bust measurements!), despite the fact that the hem of the green is not level. It’s somehow just a bit longer on the sides than it is in the centre. If anyone has any ideas as to what I’ve done wrong, please tell me! There was no time to fix it, as we were due at the wedding half an hour before I finished the dress!

Your dress is so flawless, it drapes nicely and definetly suits you! Great colour as well. Hope you enjoy knitting!

Really stunning dress! Love the pattern and the color! Regarding the hem level: you should make the hem curvier – the hem should be shortened on sides while left as it is on the front and back. I hope this makes sense. Take a look at full circle or half circle skirts – the hem line isn’t straight but curved. You should make similar adjustments, with less curvature.

Wow!I am in awe! The dress is sooo beautiful! Plus the colour and the design… So what if the hem is a bit longer on the sides! You can always say that that was your intention to do – ha :)
