Another millinery lesson cocktail hat. The Rose is made using French millinery tools and although it takes time, it is so satisfying and I love doing it.

Material Notes

Silk abaca for the hat base
Silk organza for the Rose

Liliv, you could easily make these hats with your amazing talents. You just need to be shown what to do and I know you could be making all sorts of beautiful hats.

This is my favourite and I plan to make a dress to wear it with. In November, Australia has a big horse racing day, the highlight being the Melbourne Cup. We all dress up and attend Melbourne Cup lunches and parties. This is what I will wear this year. Thanks for your lovely comments.

The base was fairly quick and so were the silk abaca leaves but the rose took time. That is the fun part though.
