My own pattern.
I bought this gorgeous silk on discount since it was a leftover. It was around 1.20m long (1.4m wide). I fell in love with its color, and I had to make a dress out of it. I had to squeeze the pattern pieces on the fabric, but I managed it!
I used some thin satin for the lining. I loved the print.
I just loove the dress, but I haven’t had much opportunities to wear it, since it’s too formal for work.
This dress was featured in the Feb/March 2012 issue of the Sew News magazine (last pic)

Please don’t hide this dress in the closet and save it for formal occasions! Everything about it suits you beautifully – the colour, the style and the lines. Maybe wear it with a jacket in a lovely print to make it suitable for less formal occasions.

Beautiful dress, so elegant, and lovely colour and fit! I love it ! You should definitely wear it as often as you feel like it.

Thank you!
For some reason, I can’t reach your profile page on BurdsStyle; I get the “This webpage has a redirect loop” error.

I am having the same problem with my profile… it’s depressing. I haven’t been able to view my activities or add any of my projects for over a week… :(

I love this dress on you, expecialy the neckline you managed well! The color and the fit of the dress are perfect and make you look so feminin and elegant. Are there pleating details in the front of the neckline, I hardly can sea it? I favourite the dress and maby try my own version of it ;O)

Thanks! Yes, the neckline has 3 pleats that are topstitched upwards in the center (hm… does this makes any sense?). I was so impatient to show you the dress, that I could not wait to shoot some better photos. I’ll try to post some photos of the details to show you the pleats.

So so beautiful. The colour is stunning of course! And the cut is so beautiful. I love love love this pattern you made. The lines are so feminine and timeless. You have really made such graceful lines. I love how the form wraps around your shoulders and accentuates the bust area (so many sheath dresses flatten the breast area- i think-and why I can’t wear them) and this is exactly how a dynamic sheath dress should be made to look very flattering. A beauty, Ana!

Gorgeous dress. I love the colour. I hope you get some opportunities to wear it out.

That is a gorgeous colour. I understand the feeling about wearing dressy dresses all the time. Be brave!

It’s very becoming to you. it fits perfectly to the body! it is a masterpiece! The color is beautiful and makes your skin so fresh. and you can wear it anywhere. Fashion is a question of courage. It requires courage, beautiful things that are not necessarily trendy to wear. people make clothes, not the clothes the people. I would wear the dress as often as you can.
sorry, should be my bad english :-)

Thanks Apfelbluete! You’re giving me the same advice as my mom did. She loved the dress and tried persuading me to wear it more often. Maybe I’ll listen to the two of you and do the exact thing! :)
For some reason, I see only the first out of the 5 photos I uploaded with this project. I don’t know what happened :(…
