2 years ago I decided to make my first quilt – blanket for a bed.
I headed to some 3 second-hand shops and picked out a pile of greenish cloths that I would never wear myself. I did not know much of the practics of quilting and patchworking, just cut out squares, and tried to put them together in a nice piece. The work was approached some four times while it was finished April this year and after finishing I could not stop watching at it :) It might be that for quilting pros this piece is nothing special, but for me – most cumbersome and rewarding project ever made.
I tried to add interfacing and lining as well as professional as possible and I can say for sure, the other side of a blanket looks as good as the front side.
Cheers!
Different kind of fabrics – cotton, silk, polyester.

This is lovely, really! Did you use any internet resources to help you figure out how to get this together? I’ve been searching high and low, but can’t find any tutorials for a quilt with a backing that aren’t written in quilter’s Greek :-/ Cheers on such a nice job!

:) Thanks for good words!
I made it just by looking at internet sources and one book for quilting. Actually, the front side I dealt out myself somehow, but the filling and lining I learned from the book I bought on sales for 5$. The only thing I looked up on internet was how to add borders to a quilt – some youtube videos were very helpful.

Fabulous, I know what a job you did. I try to do it too, that I know how dificult is to handle with so huge amount of fabric. I did one quilt from my litle nephews – soon I add it too. Well done.
