Patterns I Used: Mccalls 4491, and Mccalls 4490.
This was my Halloween Costume in 2009. It’s inspired by medieval/14th century costumes. The floor-length underdress is pale green with extra-long “scrunch” sleeves and a zipper in the back. The main dress hangs about 5 inches above the floor (which was a bad scissor accident that I made the best of by cutting the whole hem shorter); has 3/4 length sleeves with a bell shape toward the back of the arm, with facings cut in them; and also has facings cut in the bodice (which I embroidered flowers and vines around). The back of the dress closes with a leather cord lacing & embroidered grommets holes.
The main dress is made of medium green linen, and the sleeves are made of embroidered silk drapery fabric. The underdress is made of pale green poly-satin.

For the underdress I used Mccalls 4491, and for the main dress I used Mccalls 4490. I really liked that 4490 had sleeve gussets for movement.
