Description

A rather classic dirndl I made for myself sometime last winter. I didn’t make the blouse though because you can buy every imaginable style and I’m generally lazy ;)
Same pattern as the one I used for my Mum’s dirndl

    As someone who is super novice – is there anything I should be prepared to spend some time on besides buttonholes?

      With a pattern like this one? I think it’s a fairly easy one. Some people find gathering evenly somewhat hard, but other than that… Of course a good fit is really important for a pattern like this one, so the dividing seams should be really neatly done and they’re curved – take care with that.

      Thanks! I have a difficult time translating written directives into action. So, I end up watching a lot of videos on technique that most people take for granted.

    Really nice job. I just returned to a trip to Austria and Germany and so many of these in the shop windows! So much fun to see the different styles.

    Schön gworden! :) Ich find ja auch dass “Modedirndln” nur der belustigung der Masse dienen..nichts gegen ein schön schlichtes! Die leben vom schönen Stoff und schönen Knöpfen noch immer am besten. ;) Ich bin acuh am überlegen, ob ich mir der Abwechslung halber ein Abenddirndl mach.. Grüße von der österreichischen Nachbarschaft ;)

      Ja, mich nervt langsam die enorme Verbreitung von “Modedirndln”, also musste ein ganz simples her :)
