There’s a real injection of prints on my Spring-Summer mood board. I was so lucky to spot Lancetti Couture 1 meter remnant, this vintage fabric got immediately my attention due to its print and quality: it’s matelasse, 100% cotton. Recently I am tending to use only natural fibres, both for main garments and linings.
I did my best trying to use every bit of 1 meter remnant: the pattern is based on my favourite pattern (Burda 122/11_2012), I added cap sleeves, 60 cm invisible zipper in the back seam, the peplum is lined to give extra body.
For this dress I choose Bemberg lining, a high-quality brand of Cupro produced in Japan, it is breathable, light, durable and still has that silky exterior that looks and feels great. Bemberg is made from natural cotton and is anti-static and anti-cling for a more comfortable wear. It really does keep you feeling cool and fresh and luxuriously silky and soft. Bemberg lining is used by all the major high end fashion labels such as Hugo Boss, Armani and Zegna.
