This Kiel (anyone speak Dutch and feeling the urge to translate that? Google translate had a bit of a fail with it) or folk-style tunic is one I wanted to make for yonks (the last two years?) but never seemed to have the right fabric for. Then dashingmarmot sent me a surprise parcel with some Jalie patterns, a La Mia Boutique and this sweet, sweet burgundy silk dupion which was perfect for the style. The sleeves are gold/ochre raw silk from Jim Thompson. More here.
Pattern: Knipmode September 2007, #7 Kiel
a folk-style tunic pattern similar to Tova’s Wiksten (but older).
Fabric: Burgundy silk dupion from dashingmarmot + Ochre/ gold raw silk (Jim Thompson). Faced with burgundy habutai silk. All fabrics machine washed and line dried prior to sewing.
Modifications: I shortened the pattern at waist level and omitted the front tab.
