I love, love, love the Accordian Panel Skirt by Fei on the Anthropologie website but is price and location are not within reach so I decided to sew a similar one up.
I used the basic skirt pattern from SEW U by Wendy Mullen. I made the pleated ruffles by cutting out the front part of the skirt pattern twice and then cutting one of those horizontally into four equal parts. I then lined these for parts, pleated them and attached them to the flat panle that runs down the front of the skirt.
I attached this to the skirt front, sewed the skirt up, sew up my lining, made my facings on the outside and understiched the waist.
It turned out really good and will go great with my grey boots and sloppy cardi or with fancy footwear for a night time outing :)
Not quite sure by syntheic all the way, would have loved to have used silk but no crazy digital prints on silk in the shops here ... yet!

I really like the look of the pattern on this… it resembles those collage pictures made from magazine pictures cut into strips and mixed, if you know what I’m talking about. :-) Pretty cool.
