I modified the reversible bag pattern by Very Purple Person to make a shoulder bag as a gift for my lovely cousin. Yellow is her favorite color, and I found this great quilting weight cotton to use for one side, and a complementary but non-matchy turquoise print for the other. I lengthened the straps by a few inches, and added width to the bag as well. I traced off a third layer of the bag in non-fusible interfacing, and sandwiched it between the two layers of cotton to give it more body. The next time I make this bag, I’ll lengthen the straps a bit more, and do it in a canvas/cotton combination with interior pockets.
