When my grandmother died, she left me all these great patterns which I am so grateful for today. Some of them still has her handwriting on them. I like to think she would be happy if she had known that I would inherited her great interest in sewing.
For this project I used two of the pattern she left me (both from Simplicity), combined it with a newer pattern from Vogue. As always I added some details myself , as the pockets, the waistline and the fold at the bottom of the leg.
Sorry about the blurry photos.

Your pants are just beautiful, and it so special that they were inspired by a pattern from your Grandmother. This story brings tears of joy to my eyes.

These are stunning. They’re exactly what I’m looking for but I don’t think I’ll look as amazing as you in them, you have the perfect figure for them!!! I love the fact you inherited your sewing from your Grandma, I’m exactly the same, its like a little piece of them lives on in us even more so than normal!

This is really stunning! Great job! I really love your story about how you inhereted the patterns from your grandmother. I inherited my grandmothers sewing box, it has these retro aspirin tins in it in which she kept her needles. I really love using her stuff, sometimes I incoporate a little bit of the thread of hers (she must have bought it >20 years ago), it is just a great feeling to keep her memory alive like that!

Thank you so much! I really feel that it adds something extra to the projects when the things I´m are working with has a story to it, even though I´m the only one who knows :-). I love the part about you adding the threads you inherited from your grandmother!

I love this look. I want to make one. People said the front pleats are not for everyone. You rock the pleats.

these are so great, you did a really good job incorporating the pleats with the tapered leg, mine usually end up looking like a diaper in the crotch section ahah

Thanks! Haha, I know exactly what you mean! Actually, on the test version, it looked like the ass was in the front. Not very flattering… Needless to say, I hade to do some adjustments ;-).

Thank you! I used the V1059, but mostly to get the zipper and the back pockets right. The rest of the design is for the most based on an old Burda pattern, 5282 (not Simplicity as I have written…). Hope to see pictures when you are finished :-)

Great job on the pants. I think its so great that several patterns can be combined together to make something completely different and new. P.s. Those shoes look fantastic but how do you walk in them?!

Thanks! Haha, they can be a struggle to walk in. But I have many years of practice in walking with heals, and they do make me 14,5 cm higher, so it´s worth it ;-).
