Warm summer nights definitely call for cool, comfy shorts. I haven’t made any shorts in a couple of years, so I thought I’d try and get back into the swing of things this summer.
The stripy fabric for this pair of shorts came from a man’s XL-sized pyjama set I found in an op-shop last year. The set included a long-sleeved shirt and long trousers, and provided me with soooo much material! The pattern is just a simple pyjama trouser pattern that I shortened. Making sure the stripes matched up was probably the most complicated part of the whole operation. The elasticised waist makes it comfortable enough to function as sleepwear.
This is possibly the easiest, quickest clothing item I’ve worked on so far, and now, I can’t stop making shorts. They’re great when you’ve got the sewing bug and just REALLY need to sew something right now, but haven’t really got the time to make anything more complicated.
