I loved the tweed version of burda 10/2012 118A and thought it would be great in a knit jersey I’d picked up somewhere. In this knit version I switched out the patterns 3/4 sleeves for the funnel sleeves used in Burdas 11/2012 101 dress, which I also loved. I’m so happy with the results! The striped effect of the graffiti print disappears with the bias positioning of the skirt and the cowl neck also masks the stripes. I was afraid it might turn out looking like a Halloween skeleton costume, but thankfully that’s not the case! I shortened the dress to suit the new funky fun look of the dress, lengthened the sleeves (I’m always cold!) & left out the zipper. I did do the back piece as 2 separates joined at center back to offset the stripes once again. It’s super comfy and fun to wear! A quick sew too which is always a bonus!
Again – the pics aren’t very good but i’ll get around to having some good ones taken eventually!
Rayon/Lycra jersey, vilene bias stay tape, clear elastic.
