Dress made using Vogue 8511. I used a black and white printed cotton from Tessuti Fabrics. As awesome as the print was, I kinda wanted a bit more colour. What to do? Add a bit of paint myself, that’s what!
I went to our local craft store, and bought some pink fabric paint. After diluting it, my daughter and I merrily applied the paint in the most haphazard way imaginable. I then let the fabric dry, then washed it to ensure the paint wouldn’t run, then cut out the pattern and made up the dress. Snazzy, hey?
So next time you fancy customising something to make it totally unique to you, don’t forget the fabric paint option!
You can read more about it on my blog, Jorth! including how I applied the paint to the fabric

That is amazing. I would wear that in a second. Splashy print, great sleeves – what more could a dress want?

Wow, the painting looks really good! I never would have noticed you painted it if you hadn’t said so. Also, I quite like the neckline. :)

Very nice. I like the contrast between the splattery print and more rigid construction.
