When my sister asked me to make her graduation dress i was excited and nervous at the same time. She had simple instructions – a full length navy blue dress with one shoulder….. and wow did i have fun with that!!!
I use the Jocelyn pattern for the bodice shape. i didn’t have a pattern for the skirt but the ‘how to make a circle skirt’ did come in handy.
the ruffle was my favorite part – it has 3 circular ruffles on each side, 6 fabric roses (with beads in the centres for a little sparkle) and on really long ruffle entwined around the roses.
My sister loved the dress and it still hasn’t stopped getting compliments:)

he he! thanks so much! well i have to say i was very nervous when my sister announced that she had told her whole class that i was making her dress… and it was going to be fabulous!!! EEEK!!! The best thing was that she was so easy going about it & said she had complete confidence in me! I really made it up as i went along & I made the shoulder ruffle up myself with no pattern:)
