I had a dress from H&M that I wore to Fureaventura last year but haven’t worn since. It was a simple dress with a halterneck style top but unfortunatly didn’t fit very well on the top half and niggled me whenever I wore it. However as I adored the pattern of the fabric, I decided to be brave and chop it up and turn it into a pencil skirt. I put darts in the back and front, put a zip on the sid and a split of about 2 or 3 inches on the back (I am sure that is not the technical term for it). I love my skirt now and it has been worn far more than the dress was!

I am about to do the same with a beautiful but unflattering dress I made recently, yours looks lovely :) how did you summon the courage…I think I’ll need a stiff drink (jokes)!

Go for it!! I realised that if I didn’t do something to it, it would probably just become a home for the moths in my wardrobe. You’ll be pleased when you have done it :-) the first cut was the hardest! After that it was too late to go back!
