I don’t care much for golf, but boy do I love those little hats they wear. I found a pattern for this in a new(er) Stitch n’ Bitch book focused on guy’s patterns, and when I saw it I immediately knew that I would be teaching myself to crochet soon. Origionally I was supposed to make this for one of my good friends Jim, but coincidentally I got the wrong guage and it turned out too small for his head. Yet since I loved this hat so much, I gladly kept it for myself (which doesn’t happen often to the things I make).
Its made from about 8 pieces, and looks a little daunting when they aren’t yet sewn together. Once you get them pinned together, the hat takes form, and then all you have left to do is sew, make a brim, et voila!
-about 100 yds of a cotton or wool yarn that is a bit sturdy
-needle and lotsa thread
-thick piece of cardstock for brim
(I couldn’t find any that was
thick, so I ended up stitching a
few pieces together)
