I have totally lost my sewing mojo after this project; so much unpicking and handsewing, it took me 4 weeks fitting sessions in around work and family committments; still, his Nibs (my son) loves it and that is the main thing. It is not perfect by any stretch, there is some the rucking on the right side of the collar and the sleeves were a tad nightmarish, but it’s done and I am pleased :)

Material Notes

No, it’s not wool! Viscose, polyester, elastane mix from Fabulous Fabrics in Perth. It is very heavy! The lining is bemsilk from Spotlight and the buttons come from Homecraft Textiles in Victoria Park (I am in Western Australia)

Garment Type
Other, Wool

I’m with Ricardo on this one. You’ve done a great job and my coat hasn’t even got to the cutting stage yet! I have the pattern and fabric, is all (and right now, no machine anyway.)

Looks warm and cozy, nice. ☺

Impressive job you’re done. My coat is in my unfinished projects basket for 6 month already.

Thankyou :) It took me weeks to summon the courage to get started on it!
