well i’ve had this dress cut out since last november lol, i just never got round to sewing it up. I needed a blinging dress for our zumba xmas party so i decided to sew it uo and hope it looked ok. It was quite a challenge as the suggested fabrics where velvet satin and jersey. i decided to use fishscale fabric, its heavy like chain mail but sparkles like mad. i lost count of how many needles i broke and i had to do quite a bit of hand sewing on this. I’m so happy with this dress and quite a few woman said my dress was the nicest at the do!! very flattering considering there where over a hundred ladies there lol x
. i blinged up my shoes to match as well x
fishscale sequin fabric and beige jersey for the lining

What a fabulous dress! Interesting to read your notes about the fabric – I don’t think I have the patience for a fabric like this.

Thank you for your lovely comment. When.i stiched the right sides to.gether it was fine. The main needle breaking.was stiching directly on the sequins. This.is the fabric you see made up into.mega expensive dresse in magazines etc. I must be mad but.i.m thinking of doing a long. Sleeved version.in green lol

Superb dress. Funny enough, I finished my glitzy dress this morning, I wondered if everybody else had this problem with the needles. I bought the ball point needle, but I had the same problem. So I decided to sew on top of a thin strip of bias binding!

Your dress is lovely. Sometimes the more difficulties we experience in creating, the more we can appreciate the completed results. Enjoy and wear with pride!
