This dress was intended to be quite casual but it turned out to be suitable for evenings out too. I used a very light weight jersey thinking it would be more like a tee shirt type tunic/top than a dress. With that in mind I made it a little shorter than I would usually wear as a dress. However, I have worn it as a top with jeans and on holiday abroad as a dress with sparkly flats and it looked great.. I cheated and used an iron on embellishment on the waistband to add a bit of interest.
