This is a re-interpretation of the dress 119 in Burda August 2011 issue. Against all recommendations, I used a very light fabric and missed the topstitching on the skirt. The dress is so light, it is almost weightless. Yet, keeps a nice shape and … it is gold and blue!
I made this dress for my in laws’ golden anniversary, for my mother in law to wear at the evening reception.
One might say it is too much gold, but given the significance of the day and the size of the event, the bride has to stand out!
I have accessorized the dress with an elastic, bead belt from Accessorize, satin and gold leather shoes from Jones Bootmaker and a fascinator from my own collection.
Unfortunately, no special make up or hairdo, as no time.
I cannot wait to try this dress from wollen fabric.
I cannot thank Burda enough for coming up with this innovative, elegant and classic dress pattern.
Needless to say that so many ladies will appreciate the neckline and princess-collar and the covered shoulders. Ah, soooo elegant!

Love this fabric. it’s not too much gold, considering the event. Very pretty belt too. Nice work!
