The first project for the Specialty Fabrics class was to make a lace capelet. Though it can be a little tricky to sew lace, it was pretty easy. It was sewn with french seams and is finished with a satin bias binding with a hanging invisible snap closure. The scallop edge was created by cutting the selvages off the fabric and applique’ stitching them to the hem of the caplet.
