Going Sporty!

George, South Af...

I wanted to make a striped skirt, but nowhere could I find the striped material I was looking for. So I created my own material by stitching together panels of blue and grey before cutting the skirt. I had plans for a real fancy skirt with lining and zip – but in the end the need for a quick skirt prevailed and it turned out a self-drafted skirt with elastic only! I have plenty of this self-created material left, and I’m considering to make a top. All in all, it did not quite turn out as I envisioned, thus I don’t know yet whether I will wear my sporty skirt that often :P

ah thank you mary :-) i think what is bothering me with this skirt is the difference in knit weight…the blue knit is the best quality!!! but the grey is a bit lightweight…and this combo shows :O i was hoping to find two knits in the same quality and weight but in the end this was the best i could find! but im learning all the way and enjoying it big time :-) happy sewing!

If u have any grey left can you not double up the stripes?? this would work and balance out the two different weights.just treat the two layers as one x
