Description

I cut up Cosmo magazine, and made a corset. The pattern is Simplicity 2966. It gives you the directions how to make the “green” corset, as well as other corset patterns that I plan to make very soon! :)
I had so much fun finding pictures and words to make my corset, and just making it in general.
Unlike the pattern directs, I put a clear cover over my magazine pages after they had been ironed to the interfacing, so that they wouldn’t get damaged.
It’s a little weird to wear, because it’s slighlty stiff. But I’ll have to manage, because I love it!

Material Notes

Interfacing, a magazine, lining, thread, eyelets, double sided bias tape, clear plastic cover (or thick packaging tape will work), ribbion, and an imagination!

I just bought this pattern last week online and spent yesterday cutting out pictures and words with my daughter (9) and plan to make her a tank top out of the same materials. I had a blast just planning for it. Now I have to make my way to the fabric store to get the supplies, plan to on Thursday morning, then have it hopefully ready to go out with my girls Saturday night! Hopefully I will be able to wear it out. I saw your on here and totally had to have one for myself! Thanks for the inspiration!

This is sooo cool. It would rip easily though, wouldn’t it? You didn’t have to use boning or anything?

You iron the magazine clippings onto fusible interfacing.. and I am sure if you pur that clear protective covering like she did I imagine it would be pretty durable.

I used this pattern for prom last year. White ducking with designs drawn in Sharpie. I was a bit of a procrastinator. I started it 24 hours before Grand March…

This absolutely made my day. My husband and I have been refinishing our motorcycles and upon completion planned to have pictures taken with them. This would be a sensational idea for my top. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
