At last - something for myself. I think the last thing I sewed for myself was a maternity dress when I was expecting my twins and they are nearly eight years old! I was actually taking part in the Sidonie sew along but didn’t quite get finished in time and then after wearing it once, I wasn’t happy with the wide waistband I’d put on it, so I decided to go with the original waistband and unpicked it. But before I got around to putting the narrower waistband back on, I got started on all that sewing for my niece’s dancing competition. My alterations were putting the zip on the side, cutting the main skirt in an asymmetrical shape and adding a circular bottom flounce. I took photos as I went, so hopefully soon I will post my How To.
I got about 4m of this lovely drapey fabric from a local thrift store for $4. When I took it to Spotlight to find a suitable lining, the sales assistant told me it is a faille -- I love it 'cos it doesn't need ironing!, charmeuse lining, zip
Burdastyle - the first BS pattern I’ve actually sewn- Thank you.
