I have been looking so long for a pattern to make some plain, flat front, high waisted shorts- no stinkin sailor style (not hating, they’re awesome too), or stinkin pleats. Just plain, fitted shorties.
Well, I had no luck.
So, I sat down and drafted my own, using a couple pattern illustrations as a guide for the crotch curve and all that goodness. It took awhile to get these just right, but I think I got pretty darn close (I mean, look at dat ass! j/k), and I am more than happy with how these came out. The waist and leg holes are faced with wide bias tape, and there’s an invisible zipper and button closure at the right side.
The top is scrap gingham material left over from dress making. This is the third top I’ve made to go with the shorts, but I think this is my favorite combination!
Gingham for the top, white linen for the shorts.
Take a trip down the aisle in these gorgeous gowns, or change the fabrics for a spring party dress.
